Plenty of Celtic fans have been reacting online to an article about the costs associated with attending their team’s matches.
Colin Watt posted a piece on A Celtic State of Mind (acsom.net) outlining that the combined cost of tickets for the Hoops’ next five away domestic matches arrives at £130, with the Europa League clash against FC Copenhagen next month further adding to that sum.
According to Watt on A Celtic State of Mind, tickets for the Glasgow derby cost £52 for away supporters, with the average adult away ticket in the Scottish Premiership costing £30. He added that the cost of match tickets for fans attending Celtic matches this season has already come to £850 for Premiership games alone, with total spend for these games estimated at £1,300 once the associated costs of food and travel are included.
As reported by the Daily Record in the autumn, a group of Celtic supporters started a campaign titled ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ in which they have called for a price cap to be introduced to make attending matches a more affordable activity for football fans in Scotland.

The only campaign that would work is stop paying the money. If there is demand for the tickets, they will sell at that price and nobody cares about the rest who find it a struggle to afford it. I hope they come to their senses and reduce the cost but I dont see it happening.

Away tickets should be £20 max. Every Celtic and Rangers away game is on TV, so the home team are getting revenue for this, there is no need to fleece us. I’m sure if Motherwell went to Killie, they wouldn’t be charged the same as us, even though the game isn’t on tv
