Celtic: Fans react to Charlie Austin comments in an interview

A lot of Celtic fans are reacting to a fan page posting on Twitter about Charlie Austin. The post states the player that he told his agent his wanted to make the move to the Hoops in 2013 but the club’s interest didn’t progress.

The striker was speaking to Simon Ferry on Open Goal, and apart from talking about his failed move, he also talked about wanting to play for club in the future. He said: “Yeah I think so. The Old Firm derby is the pull isn’t it to play in Scotland.

“You want to win things as such too. If the opportunity came up would I go? I think so yeah.”

Austin has had a very successful career in England, playing 354 games for various clubs including Southampton and West Bromwich Albion (where he currently plays). For these sides he has scored an impressive 157 goals and picked up 30 assists, per Transfermarkt.

It would be interesting to see if  the Bhoys become interested in the Englishman again, but it seems that the fanbase is split on whether they would want him at Parkhead.
