Celtic supporters have been in fine voice throughout the international break after seeing their side taste victory in the Old Firm derby prior to the two-week interruption.
Brendan Rodgers’ men went into their meeting with bitter rivals Rangers having reached the group stages of the Europa League a matter of days earlier, and they made it three victories in a row in all competitions at Parkhead last time out. An Olivier Ntcham strike sealed a deserved 1-0 win for the Bhoys at Celtic Park to move them up to second place in the Scottish Premiership, in turn opening up a four-point gap over Steven Gerrard’s Gers in the table.
As such, there have been many thrilled Celtic fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom are likely to be interested in recent comments from BBC pundit Danny Murphy, who has had his say on what the future holds for Bhoys boss Rodgers.
The Northern Irishman made the move north of the border back in 2016 and has since been an absolute revelation at Celtic Park, leading the Bhoys to back-to-back domestic trebles, at the same time breaking several records along the way.
Yet ex-Liverpool midfielder Murphy reckons that Rodgers is likely to return to the Premier League in the ‘not too distant future’, which are comments that have stimulated quite a response from Bhoys fans on Twitter.
And some of them were saying the same thing regarding the timing of the comments, what with it being on the day of Celtic’s return to Scottish Premiership action, as they feel that negative stories often come out on a Bhoys matchday…
Do Celtic have a game today? Asking for a friend.
