It doesn’t look as though professional football will be resuming any time in the near future, which has led to Rangers doing something that many Celtic supporters have slammed.
The Belarussian league appears to be the only one that is currently still going ahead as the rest of Europe has suspended their campaigns due to the current pandemic. The Scottish Premiership itself has been on hiatus since March 13th.
Rangers were thought to have made their stance clear in the middle of last month, saying they wanted the league to complete all 38 games rather than ending the season early. Now, though, they appear to have changed their minds, or they are at least not prepared to return to the action any time soon, with The Daily Record revealing that they have ripped up the pitch at Ibrox and are preparing to repair it.
As you can imagine, this has got fans of fierce Glasgow rivals Celtic talking – one has even called it a ‘cynical attempt‘ to have the season ended and therefore deny the Hoops the league title. You can see some of the best comments from Twitter below…
Do they know more than others ?

Adamant the season must finish on the pitch.
Proceed to rip pitch up and start work that won’t finish until July.
They’re just weird now.

Cynical attempt for league to be called now they don’t have a pitch
So blatant. Will the penny (no pun intended) now drop with the fans?
