According to reports, Celtic are on the verge of a record-breaking kit deal for Adidas to join up with the club this summer, prompting supporters to celebrate the news on Twitter.
According to The Sun, Adidas are on the verge of replacing New Balance as the Hoops’ main sponsor in a deal that would be a record for a Scottish club. The current deal with New Balance, which expires this summer, is worth over £25m, but Sun Sport claims talks are ongoing over a long-term deal with Adidas which would become the biggest kit contract in Scottish football history.
The report states that several other suppliers were interested in replacing New Balance, but Adidas are leading the queue to add the Bhoys to a portfolio already containing the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.
