Celtic fans are remembering the great victory over Dukla Prague in the European Cup semi-final first leg after a fan page tweeted out a video showing the goals from the game which was played on this day (April 12th) in 1967.
It was enough to seal the tie, as the teams drew 0-0 in the second leg, and the Scottish side eventually went on to win their first ever European trophy with a 2-1 victory against Italian giants Inter Milan, via The Celtic Wiki.
This was not just a historic moment for the club, but also for Britain as the Hoops became the first UK-based club to win a European Cup. It is perhaps the greatest moment in the club’s history and the closest they have got to continental success since was when they managed to get to the UEFA Cup final in the 2002/03 season but lost 3-2 to Portuguese side FC Porto, via UEFA.
