Celtic: Fans send best of luck to Didier Agathe in new role

A lot of Celtic fans are reacting to a post on Twitter by Durham City AFC Football Academy, which has announced that former Hoops player Didier Agathe will become the manager at the club.

The former right midfielder left fellow Scottish Side Hibernian for £675,ooo, via Transfermarkt, to sign for the Celts, and had a very successful career with the side. He made 169 appearances for them in total and scored 11 goals, via thecelticwiki, whilst winning three league titles, two Scottish Cup titles and one League Cup.

He was also part of the side that went on the great European run in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup campaign and narrowly missed out on the trophy as they lost 3-2 to FC Porto in the final, per UEFA.com

It seems like he has always been wanting to get back into football since his retirement in 2010, and now he finds himself back as he takes charge of the north east side. The Northern League Division Two club haven’t had a great campaign, picking just two wins from 26 games before recent events saw the season cancelled, per Durham City AFC. Many will be hoping that he will be able to change the sides fortunes when football resumes.
