Celtic: Fans slam Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo’s display vs Hibs

Bolingoli in action for Celtic

Lots of Celtic fans have been reacting to their 2-0 win over Hibs, and plenty have taken issue with the performance of left-back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo.

Bolingoli fast became a cult hero at Parkhead after signing in the summer on a four-year deal, with many Hoops fans even changing their Twitter names to represent their affection for their new signing.

That affection may well have died down since then though, as the Belgian defender has struggled to adapt to life in the Scottish top-flight.

Indeed, while Jeremie Frimpong impressed on the other flank and Odsonne Edouard shone once again up front, Bolingoli was undoubtedly the standout poor performer in Sunday’s win over Hibs.

The 24 year-old has played 24 times total this season, but is yet to really prove he has what it takes to replace Kieran Tierney, with some supporters bashing his woeful first touch and others pointing out that Greg Taylor is a superior option.

Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below…

Bolingoli should never be a professional footballer

A still don’t see anything in Bolingoli. He’s the only player in that team that’s average

— Paul (@P__67) December 15, 2019

Greg Taylor is by far the superior player. It’s not even a debate.
