For Christopher Jullien’s Celtic debut, he found himself lining up against a familiar opponent in the form of Stade Rennes. The Frenchman, signed from Toulouse for £7m (BBC), impressed in the goalless draw, and now the fans want to see more from the defender.
Indeed, in the Daily Record’s write up of the match, they claimed the 26-year-old looked ‘a welcome and calming’ presence in the backline and that he ‘cruised through’ his debut.

Jullien was one of two debutants in the 0-0 tie at Parkhead, with young Luca Connell also making his first appearance in front of his new home fans following his move from Bolton (BBC). Now, they can look forward to the second leg of their Champions League qualifier, with signings bedded in.
The Bhoys won 3-1 away at FK Sarajevo last Tuesday and now the return leg is to take place on Wednesday in front of the Parkhead faithful as they set their sights on a return to Europe’s elite competition.
