A number of Celtic fans have vented their annoyance at the club over what they perceive to be the mistreatment of Scott Sinclair following confirmation of his exit from Parkhead.
The club confirmed on official Twitter channel @CelticFC on Wednesday night that an agreement had been reached with Preston to sign the 30-year-old on a permanent transfer, with the Hoops’ official website celticfc.net reporting the completion of the deal on Thursday morning.

Sinclair came to Celtic in 2016 and scored 25 goals in his first season at Parkhead, as well as being named Celtic’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for that campaign.
He won a domestic treble in each of his three full seasons with Celtic and had scored 62 goals in 167 appearances for the Hoops before returning to England.
Having been a regular at the club for his first three years in Glasgow, he fell out of favour under Neil Lennon, playing just 19 times under the current Celtic boss since he replaced Brendan Rodgers last February, and had started only once in all competitions this season.
These Celtic fans on Twitter were raging over the manner in which Sinclair’s time at the club fizzled out, believing that he was shoddily treated at Parkhead, with some pointing the finger of blame at chief executive Peter Lawwell:
Best of luck to him, treated shamefully by Peter Lawwell since the summer.

Do you feel Sinclair was badly treated by Lennon and Lawwell at Celtic? Would he still have had plenty to offer to the club before he was allowed to leave for Preston? Tell us what you think by commenting below!
