Celtic transfer target Jordon Ibe is available on a free transfer from July after Eddie Howe recently confirmed that the winger would be released, per the Bournemouth Echo, and the Hoops are being linked with the attacker, prompting a reaction from plenty of their supporters.
Ibe has not had the best of times at Bournemouth since his £16.2m move from Liverpool back in July 2016, as per Transfermarkt. He has made 92 appearances in all competitions and only scored five goals whilst registering nine assists, so it isn’t hard to see why the Cherries do not want to re-sign the winger.
However, this could be the perfect opportunity for both him and Celtic, with many Hoops fans drawing comparisons between Ibe and former Celts winger Scott Sinclair, who struggled in England’s top flight after moving to Manchester City and also looked low on confidence but then excelled in the SPFL, scoring 62 goals and providing 34 assists in 167 games for Celtic, per Transfermarkt.
The fact that he is available on a free means that the Hoops wouldn’t need to take any great risk on the player as they would only need to fund his wages and not an accompanying transfer fee; and with Southampton’s valuation for fellow transfer target Mohammed Elyounoussi too high for the Hoops, Ibe could be the ideal alternative.
Here is what these fans had to say following the tweet which spoke about the links in the Bournemouth Echo:

Scott Sinclair was nothing before he came and proved his worth, why not give him the platform to replicate him at the cost of nothing? No brainier for me
