A number of Celtic fans have called for teenage prospect Karamoko Dembele to be drafted into the first team following his impressive display for the reserves on Monday.
The 17-year-old scored twice for Tommy McIntyre’s side as they defeated their Hibernian counterparts 4-1 in the SPFL Reserve Cup semi-finals at Lennoxtown, thumping home a shot off the underside of the crossbar on the stroke of half-time and beating several opponents before finding the net for a second time on 65 minutes. The young winger has made three competitive appearances for Celtic’s first team so far, making his debut on the final Premiership matchday of last season as well as featuring in games against CFR Cluj and Ross County over the winter (as per TransferMarkt). Indeed, the teenager has reportedly attracted the attention of Chelsea, with 90min.com claiming last November that the English Premier League side have been considering a potential move for him this year.
