A number of Celtic fans expressed their dissatisfaction over the brevity of game-time afforded to Patryk Klimala by Neil Lennon on Wednesday night.
The Polish striker, who signed for the Hoops two weeks ago for £3.5m (as per The Scottish Sun), was given just eight minutes off the bench in the 3-0 win at St Johnstone, despite the visitors scoring all of their goals inside the first half-hour at McDiarmid Park. It was the 21-year-old’s first appearance in the Premiership, having failed to make it off the bench in the previous two league games, and his second appearance for Celtic after his 11-minute cameo against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup (as per TransferMarkt).
Klimala was brought on for his league debut in place of Odsonne Edouard in the 82nd minute and, despite having little time to impress, still made a valuable contribution as he cleared a Jason Kerr header off the line in the closing stages in Perth and, at the other end, almost got on the end of a Greg Taylor cross.
These Celtic fans on Twitter weren’t happy over how little game-time the striker was afforded by Lennon on Wednesday night:

A solid 9 minutes to make an impact, very generous Neil.

because Edouard is our best player and the pitch was a tottie field and we rely on him so much. Game was won at half time so get him aff. How is Klimala meant to get match fit playing 10 minutes at a time?

Do you think Lennon should have brought on Klimala much earlier given how sizeable a lead Celtic had? Does he deserve a chance to start for the Hoops soon? Share your views in the comments section below!
