Left-back Greg Taylor made his long-awaited Celtic debut in their 2-0 win over St Mirren at Parkhead last night after his £3m deadline day transfer from Kilmarnock and made a good impression with many Hoops fans.
Taylor has found his opportunities limited by the form of Boli Bolingoli as the Belgian overcame his initial struggles to cement his place in the starting XI.
Despite his lack of appearances, Taylor was recently called up to the Scotland squad which is a demonstration of his former manager Steve Clarke’s trust in him. Ironically, his call-up was as a result of his Celtic predecessor Kieran Tierney’s lack of game-time as he recovers from injury.
Fans of the Parkhead club took to Twitter to congratulate the youngster on an impressive debut, and if he continues in this vein it surely won’t be as long until his next appearance in the famous green and white hoops.
Here are some of the Twitter opinions from Celtic fans:
Very good debut. You tackled with precision & controlled aggression, passed the ball early and accurately and made yourself available on the left all night. Your balls across the box would have been turned in on another night. You are clearly a quality left back #Welcome #HH #KTF

Great debut mate, been buzzing to see you get a chance and it has not been easy with Boli settling in well after a shaky start. You certainly done you’re chances no harm tonight. Congratulations. 👍🍀
