As all good Hoops fans will know Celtic was founded so that “a football club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and the unemployed”.
Celtic prides itself on it’s long and unbroken history during which they have won 108 major honours including being the first British club to win the European Cup in 1967. Currently on course to win nine league titles in a row, as well as aiming for their fourth domestic treble in a row, these certainly are good times for those clad in green and white.
Fans of the Glasgow giants took to Twitter to wish the club happy birthday and to share in their glorious history, celebrating their success both past and present.
My club. Having been born less than 1/2 a mile away, it has been a massive part of my life. And always will be. It’s not just a football club. It’s way more than that. 🍀
