Celtic: Jeremie Frimpong struggles as Bhoys limp to Hibs draw

Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong performed poorly during his side’s 2-2 draw against Hibernian on Saturday afternoon.

Frimpong struggles

The 19-year-old started on the right-hand side of the Bhoys backline as they lost ground on arch-rivals Rangers once more in their pursuit of capturing an unprecedented 10-in-a-row.

Jamie Murphy and Kevin Nisbet scored two quick-fire goals at the start of the second half to give Neil Lennon an unwanted headache, before a penalty from Odsonne Edouard and a late equaliser from Diego Laxalt ensured that they didn’t leave Easter Road empty-handed.

During the 90 minutes, Frimpong was ranked as the lowest-rated player out of the Hoops’ starting eleven.

Sofascore recorded that the £2.7m-rated young starlet lost possession a whopping 18 times, came out second best in six duels and only completed one successful dribble out of three attempts.

While Frimpong has been praised in recent weeks, it will be an afternoon to forget as his team look to hit the ground running with the Christmas period rapidly approaching.

In other news, Neil Lennon furious as key Celtic asset was not rested during international break.
