Celtic midfielder hands Rodgers a boost but country a blow

The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are still in delirious delight about their barnstorming start to the season, as well as the ongoing problems bitter rivals Rangers are facing right now.

Brendan Rodgers’ arrival has sparked an air of excitement amongst the Hoops right now and, while it is slowly diminishing, a Champions League hope remains alight at Parkhead.

Under the former Liverpool boss, the Bhoys are in good shape right now and a number of players look revitalised under his watch, after stagnating during Ronny Deila’s two years in charge.

One of those is midfielder Nir Bitton, who looks back to his formidable best under the Northern Irishman.

Still, the midfielder looks as if he’s taking his hard-nosed attitude a tad too far following reports from BBC World Football Corespondent Rapheal Gellar on Twitter.

He’s revealed that the 25-year-old has been sent home from the Israel national side for ‘disciplinary reasons’.

With that in mind, the Hoops propping up the bar have been delighted that such a crucial part of their side won’t risk getting injured across the international break.
