Celtic have cantered towards the Scottish Premiership title this season and thanks to a rather timid attempt from both Aberdeen and Rangers, they look almost certain to pick up the crown over the coming weeks.

The Bhoys have dominated proceedings in Scottish Football this season, rather as expected, and their fans here in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with how things have gone domestically.

But the problem arises when we begin discussing European football, which is where Brendan Rodgers’ side really struggled this campaign.

They were knocked out of the Champions League group stages after limping through the preliminary qualifiers and it’s clear that supporters here in the pub want to see some real depth added this summer.

Celtic will always be there or there about’s in the league but when it comes to Europe, things need to get a whole lot stronger.

So with that in mind, here’s two strategic signings Celtic must look to seal in the summer transfer window…

Kelechi Iheanacho

It’s certainly a bold statement but with worries Moussa Dembele could leave Parkhead, Celtic need to bring in a replacement striker who can take the team forward.

And one name that has been mooted by a pocket of fans here in the Tavern is Kelechi Iheanacho, who continues to warm the Manchester City bench with Sergio Aguero continuing to lead the line on a weekly basis.

The Nigerian is far too good to play his early career on the bench and if Celtic did make a move, offer the right money and wages, there’s no reason why it couldn’t be agreed.

Callum Wilson

Another man who has had some serious poor fortune over the past couple of years is Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, who is spending his second season in succession on the sidelines.

At the start of last season when he was playing some of his best football, he was possibly good enough to move on from the Cherries to bigger things but that of course never happened.

Celtic fans here in the Tavern seem to be well up for the idea of Wilson moving north of the border, believing he’ll bring the sort of pace and power to the frontline that could help them both domestically and in European competition.
