Celtic: Chris Sutton has change of heart on Neil Lennon after Sparta Prague defeat - Celtic News

Former Celtic star Chris Sutton has had a drastic change of heart regarding manager Neil Lennon after his side were knocked out of the Europa League.

Sutton fears the worst for Lennon

The Bhoys went out of Europe with a whimper in what was a repeat of events that took place before the international break, with another 4-1 defeat to Sparta Prague.

Celtic took the lead through star striker Odsonne Edouard after 15 minutes, but quickly fell apart with goals from David Hancko, a brace from Lukas Julis and substitute Srdan Plasvic adding a late fourth.

Who did Larsson make his debut against?

Sutton has been sticking up for Lennon recently, and condemned supporters who unveiled a banner outside of Celtic Park demanded that he is sacked.

But after the final whistle, the former England international was not impressed with what he saw and made his feelings clear on Twitter in a blunt and brief statement, seemingly condemning Lennon in just ten short words.

Pressure on Lawwell

Last night was a big game for Celtic and they did not perform, which will not have helped the pressure on Lennon’s shoulders.

The ball is well and truly in Peter Lawwell’s court now. After the Bhoys were eliminated from Europe, the chief executive will now have a decision to make, and Sutton, a staunch defender of Lennon in the past, may just have added the final straw onto the camel’s back by changing his tune.

Lawwell may be left with very little choice soon, considering even those who were previously on Lennon’s side now seem resigned to seeing him exit.

Chris Sutton previously predicted Neil Lennon would be sacked if one thing happened
