Celtic could receive a huge boost for their Scottish Premiership fixture against St.Johnstone following the latest update on Christopher Jullien.
The latest on the Frenchman
According to BT Sport, the Celtic defender could return for Sunday’s visit of St Johnstone. The defender was an unused substitute against AC Milan, and this is due to the fact that they wanted him to be rested after just returning from injury. He played in the cup defeat last weekend and clearly there was still doubts about his fitness as he was not picked to play against Milan.
Jullien being rested could be exactly what Celtic needed
Many might have been worried to see the centre-back not featuring mid-week, however, this latest news should be a much-needed morale booster.
In the five Scottish Premiership appearances he made this season before injury, the Hoops won four and drew one (Transfermarkt). They kept three clean sheets and only conceded two goals. He has managed 1.6 tackles, one interception and 3.8 clearances a game when he’s played (WhoScored).
Considering the Hoops’ poor form without Jullien, which has caused mass protests from the fans, getting the defender back for a game in the division could be huge and could also be the catalyst for Celtic’s resurgence as the look to make Scottish history and win ten SPFL titles in a row.
