Celtic reporter Kieran Devlin has dropped a worrying claim on the pressure mounting on manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Lowdown: Celtic’s poor form

Postecoglou has been without a number of players in recent weeks, with the injury list mounting.

However, he was able to bring back Callum McGregor and Kyogo Furuhashi against Bayer Leverkusen, but the pair couldn’t prevent a second defeat in the Europa League.

A 4-0 loss on Thursday means it is now just two wins in eight in all competitions, with the Hoops sitting sixth in the Scottish Premiership and bottom of Group G.

The Latest: Devlin’s report

Devlin shared a story on The Athletic on Friday morning, comparing Celtic’s mentality transformation to Italian giants Juventus.

Within his report, he cited comments from defender Leonardo Bonucci, where he said the younger players in Turin with 50 games under their belt are beginning to understand the ‘operaia’ mentality.

Devlin followed up by saying 'Postecoglou might not get 50 games under his belt as Celtic manager with pressure mounting on him already' – a worrying claim regarding the possibility of the Celtic boss facing the sack.

The Verdict: Time is required…

Results in recent weeks have been a worry and the Hoops hierarchy may have been hoping for more.

However, it was always going to take time with a new man in charge and the number of incomings and outgoings over the summer.

Parting ways with Postecoglou this early into the new campaign may only put Celtic back to square one in regards to their transformation, so the Hoops may have to tough it out and watch it get worse before things get better.
