Football Scotland reporter Euan Robertson believes up to five Celtic players are closing in on a return from injury.

The Lowdown: Ange’s injury woes

Ange Postecoglou has been dealt a bad hand when it comes to injuries during his first few months in charge.

Christopher Jullien hasn’t featured in 2021 following a knee injury last December, James Forrest has been out since the end of August and Mikey Johnston was injured in pre-season and is yet to play this season.

Summer signing Josip Juranovic picked up a knock against Dundee United last month, whereas fellow summer recruit Giorgos Giakoumakis is yet to get his Parkhead career off and running, injuring his calf in the warm-up against Raith Rovers.

The Latest: Robertson’s claim

Football Scotland journalist Robertson shared a story on Friday morning, sharing all the details fans need to know for Celtic’s trip to Fir Park on Saturday afternoon.

When it came to team news, he suggested that Jullien, Forrest, Juranovic, Johnston and Giakoumakis are all closing in on a return.

The Verdict: Big boost

The sidelined quintet may not be ready for Saturday, however, knowing they are all closing in on a return should be a big boost for Postecoglou.

He hasn’t been able to call upon Jullien or Johnston during his time as manager, whereas Forrest, Juranovic and Giakoumakis haven’t been regulars in recent months.

Having a fully fit squad prior to the winter break could prove priceless as the Hoops look to climb the table, with the games coming thick and fast.
