Premiership giants Celtic have been linked with a move to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard in the January transfer window.
Lingard looking to leave
TEAMTalk have reported that Lingard has asked to leave Man Utd in the January transfer window unless they take up their option to extend his contract at the club.
More than half a dozen clubs are interested in the Englishman and while clubs in Italy, Germany and Spain are also interested, Celtic are one of the sides in the mix, looking at the possibility of bringing the midfielder to Parkhead (as per TEAMTalk).

Apart from the Hoops, their Old Firm rivals are also one of the clubs interested in signing the 27-year-old, who has made 24 appearances for the England national team.
Struggling at Man Utd
Back in 2019, Lingard went goalless for the Red Devils for an entire year – he finished without a goal or an assist in as many as 28 Premier League outings.
This season, the 24-cap England international is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, but he did play two games in the League Cup.
That said, given the Bhoys’ current plight, it would be quite a shock to see the club swoop for a player who has struggled so much in recent seasons.
