Celtic defender Josip Juranovic is available for selection against Bodo/Glimt this evening, The Daily Record report.

The Lowdown: Juranovic absence

Juranovic missed the Hoops’ win over Aberdeen last week through illness and sat out once again on the weekend vs Championship side Raith Rovers.

The right-back has been a regular under Ange Postecoglou after arriving from Legia Warsaw over the summer, even turning out in midfield and at left-back over recent months.

Celtic are set to host the Norwegian side in the first leg of their Europa Conference League knockout tie, and it seems as if they will have the Croatia international back in what will be a timely return.

The Latest: Available

The Daily Record’s Mark Pirie shared comments from Postecoglou in a story on Wednesday afternoon.

When it came to Juranovic, the Hoops boss said that he is ‘available’ after returning to full training from his recent illness.

The Verdict: Good news

Anthony Ralston has been brought back into the side in recent games to replace Juranovic, but having the summer signing back fit can only be good news.

Labelled as ‘excellent’ by pundit Alan Hutton for his display against Rangers earlier this month, Juranovic will provide the Celtic manager with a versatile option in a crucial knockout first leg.

Even if Ralston keeps his place in the starting line up, Juranovic will be able to come on and play in numerous positions, however, following his fine form prior to his illness, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him come straight back in for Ralston.
