Celtic: Hoops set to make loan decision on Moritz Jenz -Celtic News

Celtic are set to make a decision on the future of Moritz Jenz at the end of the Scottish Premiership season, according to reports in the last 48 hours.

The Lowdown: Instant impact

The German arrived in Glasgow over the summer on a season-long loan from Lorient where he was announced in a double signing alongside Aaron Mooy, and there is an option to buy included.

The centre-back has made ten league starts out of a possible 15 so far this term which shows how much Ange Postecoglou values him at the heart of his backline, though where his future lies yet remains to be seen.

The Latest: Celtic to make Jenz decision

According to Football Scotland, Celtic are aware that there’s a ‘decision to be made’ on Jenz’ next steps which is likely to be taken ‘in the summer’.

The Hoops know that the 23-year-old has ‘done well’ since his arrival, so will no doubt carefully weigh up their options come the end of the current campaign.

The Verdict: Permanent contract deserved

Jenz has been praised for his ‘stunning’ abilities by Josh Bunting and looking at his numbers after just the first phase of the season, a permanent contract would be fully deserved.

The 6 foot 2 colossus is averaging 2.4 aerial duels, 2.3 clearances and even has two goals to his name, highlighting the impact he can have at both ends of the pitch (WhoScored).

Also recording a 90.7% pass success rate, Jenz has a real calming nature on the ball and so extending his stay north of the border isn’t something the club should even have to think twice about.
