Celtic are second in the Scottish Premiership and only one point behind the league leaders with a game in hand, per SPFL, so their upcoming fixtures are vital.
However the latest news emerging from the club could have a big effect on their season as striker Odsonne Edouard will not be able to play or train with the squad for the next couple of weeks.
There is no doubting how crucial Edouard is for Neil Lennon at the Hoops as he has scored 66 goals and picked up 32 assists in his 136 appearances for the club since he signed from Paris-Saint Germain, per Transfermarkt. This season his great eye for goal has continued as he has played ten games in all competitions and scored six times.
Despite the international break, this could definitely affect the season for the Bhoys as he will have to isolate for fourteen days and this means he will likely have to miss the first Old Firm derby of the season against Glasgow Rangers, depending on when he first tested positive. The Gers are currently top of the SPFL, and if Celtic were to win, they would go above them.
He could also be a doubt for their first Europa League group stage game of the season against Italian heavyweights AC Milan, as the fixture is only a couple of days after that 14-day period ends.
It is not something that Lennon would have liked to hear as players head out on international duty, but he will now have to work on a plan without Edouard for their huge derby and hopefully the Bhoys can cope without him.
