The week has not gone well for Celtic so far as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round. They lost 2-1 to Hungarian side Ferencvaros and it will be a bitterly disappointing way to start the 2020/21 campaign.
They have to put that defeat behind them quickly as they now have a fixture in the Scottish Premiership against Motherwell to play, and Neil Lennon will need to win the league for the season to be a successful one. Here is the TT predicted XI to play Motherwell.
Despite conceding two goals in midweek, Lennon pretty much had his strongest defence playing against Ferencvaros. The one change that is very likely to happen at the back is Jeremie Frimpong replacing Hatem Abd Elhamed, a change which Lennon has been doing whilst the Hoops were playing in Europe.
Callum McGregor should start like always, but this week has not been a quiet one for him as he has been linked with a reunion with former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. The Leicester City manager wants to take the midfielder to the Premier League and apparently the Foxes are ready to bid £20 million for the Scotsman.
The Hoops will also be very worried about their options upfront as Odsonne Edouard was not available for the Champions League match due to an injury. However, the fact that Lennon described it as a ‘niggle‘ will please supporters of the Celts and hopefully that will mean he was rested as a precaution and will be able to return to face Motherwell. The striker is currently the joint top goalscorer in the division with three goals, so he will be hoping to add to this tally in the Premiership.
The striker will most likely replace Olivier Ntcham, which will allow Ryan Christie to play as the attacking midfielder and have natural wingers James Forrest and Mohammed Elyounoussi either side of him.
