Celtic: Predicted XI to play Dundee United

Celtic: Predicted XI to play Dundee United - Celtic News

The start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season has not gone exactly as planned for reigning champions Celtic as they have only four points from two games, and they then had their next two games postponed due to recent events.

This sees them sit in sixth, and six points behind Glasgow Rangers in first, via SPFL, but they can at least draw level on points with the Gers if they win their two games in hand.

The Hoops face Dundee United away from home, but are coming off the back of a very positive midweek result as they advanced to the next round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers following a 6-0 win over KR Reykjavík. Here is the TT predicted XI to play Dundee United, which sees manager Neil Lennon make two changes.

Barkas seems to have cemented his spot in between the sticks over Scott Bain, and this looks to continue for the foreseeable, meanwhile there is no doubt that Krisoffer Ajer will return at centre-back to pair up alongside Christopher Jullien. This will see Nir Bitton drop to the bench.

The other change also comes in defence as Jeremie Frimpong, who received the Young Player of the Year award at Celtic last season, should also return in place of Hatem Abd Elhamed.

Frimpong has played in the two SPFL games this season for Celtic, picking up one goal, and this attacking intent he has will be crucial for Celtic as they try to break down a Dundee United defence that will most likely allow the Hoops to have a fair share of possession.

question mark

How many goals did Chris Sutton score for the club?

22 year-old Greg Taylor, who plays at left-back, could also be crucial for the Hoops as he has picked up two assists in the SPFL this season as well as a goal in Europe midweek.

Mohammed Elyounoussi will be itching to play, as his two goals against KR Reykjavík should give him the morale boost he needs to perform at his best and be a menace for the opposition defence.

Meanwhile Odsonne Edouard already has three goals to his name this season, meaning he has scored one goal every 59 minutes, per BBC Sport, and with his goal in Europe the other night, it seems very unlikely that he will fail to find the back of the net.
