All associated with Celtic would have been very pleased to see the Hoops come away with a very emphatic 5-0 victory against Ross County last weekend.
The result means they sit third in the division on 13 points, per SPFL and are six points behind first place, but have two games in hand.
The victory would have been a positive not just because it means they can still go top on goal difference if they win their games in hand, but also because of the fact that Neil Lennon tried a new formation and it paid off massively. Here is the TT predicted XI for their game against St. Mirren, which sees Lennon only make one change from their last fixture.
New signing Shane Duffy, who is on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, started in a back three last weekend alongside Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien. The Irishman had a great debut as he picked up the highest rating on the pitch (8.5), whilst he also made eight clearances, two interceptions, two tackles, and also came away with a goal, per SofaScore. There is no doubt the same back three will start again with Barkas in goal.
The three central midfielders Callum McGregor, Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown worked very well with captain Brown slightly behind the other two in a more defensive position and this clearly helped Ntcham as he picked up his best rating of the season in the division as he picked up an assist, won four ground duels, and made two interceptions, per SofaScore.
Meanwhile James Forrest and Jeremie Frimpong both picked up the worst ratings of the starting eleven as they both got a 6.8 from SofaScore. Frimpong has a goal and an assist in his five SPFL games, whilst Forrest has the same tally. However with this upcoming game being only four days after their victory against Ross County, Lennon might feel the need to pick someone else who is more on form, and Southampton loanee Mohammed Elyounoussi came on from the bench in the fixture to pick up a 7.3 rating as he got an assist after only playing for 19 minutes, and it would not be a shock to see Forrest, who is valued at £7.20 million, dropped for the 26 year-old.
This leaves the two striker positions left to fill, and with Lennon needing to win his games in hand, he can’t afford to drop his goal scorers despite a short break in between fixtures. This should mean that Odsonne Edouard, who returned from injury with a Man of the Match performance as he scored one, per BBC Sport, should start alongside Albian Ajeti. The forward signed from West Ham United and looks to be a great acquisition as he scored one on the weekend and the 23 year-old now has three goals in three SPFL games for the club.
