Celtic have had some amazing marquee players sign for the club and when you are such a big side who dominate the division, this is bound to keep on going. Here at the Transfer Tavern, we are looking back at some of these great signings to remind Hoops fans of how good it felt when they were announced and how crucial a signing they have been.

Odsonne Edouard was virtually an unknown when he turned up at Parkhead on loan in August 2017, per Transfermarkt. However 29 games, 11 goals and four assists in this season had fans begging for the French forward to be signed permanently.

His first season clearly didn't just impress supporters, but also the club as they bought the French striker for £9.27 million in the summer of 2018, and that fee is now looking like an absolute bargain.

It is fair to say that upon his arrival, most Celtic fans were buzzing with one suggesting it was an 'absolutely superb' addition...

Since his move was made permanent, the Frenchman has scored 47 goals and picked up 27 assists in 97 appearances, and this great goal tally has helped lead the Hoops to two more league titles and three domestic cups, per Transfermarkt. The club recently won their ninth title in a row as they finished 13 points clear of Rangers in second, via STV News.

His goals were a huge part of this as he managed 22 goals in the Scottish Premiership, averaging a strike every 96 minutes. It put him nine goals ahead of the second top scorer (Jermain Defoe), via BBC Sport.

When he signed, fans were clearly buzzing over his arrival and it is fair to say that they were right to be as it was a huge catalyst for their continuing success. One fan even said 'announce 10 in a row' at the time and now with the Frenchman at the forefront of the side, they are only one season away from achieving this feat. This would be a momentous feat as they would be the first side in Scottish history to win ten in a row, per talkSPORT.

With Edouard only 22, supporters of the Hoops will hope that the forward will stay at the club for many seasons to come.
