Celtic fans here in the Tavern are starting to worry about the future of their managerial mastermind, as clubs could look to make a move for the Northern Irishman in the summer.

Indeed, the Hoops are now the holders of a domestic record after going 69-games unbeaten, which sadly ended after defeat against Hearts. Although, this isn’t the only piece of brilliance that Brendan Rodgers has produced during his time in Glasgow, as the Bhoys are heading for yet another Scottish Premiership title.

However, with all the success that Rodgers has enjoyed during his time at Celtic Park, there is the fear of interest filtering in from some of the world’s most dominant clubs. And, this is exactly what’s happened, as Arsenal have reportedly shortlisted Brendan Rodgers as a possible replacement for Arsene Wenger.

Sadly, this has caused for many of our local residents to fear for their future in Scottish football, as they believe that no one can replicate the success that the former Liverpool manager has brought to Celtic Park. Although, the decision will be entirely out of their hands, so here’s a look at THREE possible replacements that the Hoops should consider…

Thomas Tuchel

The former Borussia Dortmund manager was the brilliant successor to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, and rivalled the 50-year-old’s successful time in Germany with some incredible results of his own.

Thomas Tuchel produced a 63% win percentage during his time as Dortmund boss, with his points average in the Bundesliga being better than any other manager in the club’s history. Although, that wasn’t his only success after securing the German Cup in his final year in charge – so overall it was quite a feat considering what Klopp managed to achieve.

Indeed, Celtic would be looking to replace one of the world’s best managers in Brendan Rodgers with a man on a similar level, and Thomas Tuchel has all the makings of a manager that can bring glory to Celtic Park in his place.

Slaven Bilic

The Croatian enjoyed a rather successful time in the English capital with West Ham United, but all the glory was overshadowed by the club’s poor performances during his last season in charge, that gave the Hammers no option but to relieve him of his duties.

Although, Slaven Bilic did manage to lead the London club to their best ever finish in the Premier League of 7th place, while becoming only the fourth manager to record away wins against Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal in the same season.

Therefore, with Bilic’s impressive figures stacking up in his favour, who’s to say that another sacked Premier League manager can’t follow on in the footsteps of Brendan Rodgers.

Roberto Di Matteo

Roberto Di Matteo has been out of management since being sacked from his role as Aston Villa manager back in 2016, and could be a tactical choice for the hierarchy at Celtic Park.

Indeed, the 47-year-old won the Champions League and the FA Cup during his time as Chelsea caretaker boss, with the Blues yet to repeat the European success since the memorable night in Munich. And, his win percentage during his time at the club is up there with the likes of Jose Mourinho’s latest stint and Rafa Benitez’s time in charge, having produced a 57% win record.

Nevertheless, Champions League success has been a huge part of the club’s problems in years gone by, so bringing Di Matteo to the club could see them make a fist of things in the European competition. Although, he does hold some impressive domestic stats as well, having shown he can be successful in all competitions during his time at Stamford Bridge.
