Celtic winger James Forrest is their third-highest scorer this season with 13 goals so far in 2019/20 but some Hoops fans have expressed their concerns about his form of late.
Although the 28-year-old provided the assists for both goals in Wednesday’s 2-0 win away to Hearts, he was guilty of what BBC reporter Tom English called “a glaring miss” in the first half at Tynecastle and is now without a goal in his last six appearances.
Twitter user @TheCelticWiki said that Forrest “has not been at his best recently” but noted the cutback he provided for Olivier Ntcham’s goal on Wednesday night.

He played on the left-wing in the wins over Hibernian and Hearts this week, with Mohamed Elyounoussi and Mikey Johnston both affected by recent injury concerns (as per thecelticstar.com), having predominantly lined up on the opposite flank this season.
Interestingly, Forrest hasn’t scored in four starts on the left wing this term, whereas he has 10 goals from as many games when starting in his favoured right-winger role. [via TransferMarkt]
These Celtic fans on Twitter voiced their concerns with the 28-year-old’s recent performances, with some feeling there was an element of luck to the assist to which @TheCelticWiki alluded:
I have to disagree with your assessment of the assist. I think Forrest overran it, could’ve passed it twice to Edouard, then when he cut it back I’m sure it was meant for Edouard but was too hard but luckily Ntcham was there

Out left he looks lost. Has been off the boil recently.

He struggles out left. He needs to be playing RW to be most effective.

Got lucky, he never lifted his head once. Never does.

In the end he did really well to cut it back for Ntcham, but if his awareness was on point he’d have played the ball in front of Eddy as soon as Broony set him away.
