Celtic are yet to have appointed a new Under-20 coach following Shaun Maloney’s departure to join Roberto Martinez at Belgium in September.
However, it appears as though the Scottish Premiership giants could be about to finally find someone to replace him.
The former Republic of Ireland winger, who was capped by his country 100 times, is just one of a number of applicants for the vacant role and is currently working in his homeland.
Duff is currently managing the Shamrock Rovers Under-15 side, although it appears as though he is ready to make the jump into a more senior football role.
And, a move to Celtic could benefit the former Chelsea winger, as he will know Brendan Rodgers well as the current Celtic boss was the youth coach at the Blues before heading on his own managerial adventure.
The Verdict:
Duff could be an excellent addition to the backroom staff at Celtic and could help the club bring through a number of exciting prospects.
The 39-year-old is hugely experienced and has won the Premier League title twice with Chelsea and could hand down some crucial knowledge to a group of players that will be expected to help win titles for the Hoops in the future.
With a number of applicants for the role, however, Duff could see that his lack of coaching experience within a senior role let him down in getting the job at Celtic Park.
