Plenty of Celtic fans have had their say on Stuart Findlay after a tweet that was posted by Celtic Underground (@celticrumours) claimed that he is the best centre-back in the Premiership outside of Neil Lennon’s squad.

The Kilmarnock defender came through the Hoops’ academy and captained their under-17 side as well as playing for the club in the UEFA Youth League but he never made a first team appearance at Parkhead and was loaned out several times before joining Newcastle permanently in 2016.
The 24-year-old returned to Scotland with Kilmarnock a year later, initially on loan before making a permanent move (as per BBC), and has been a regular presence in the side during his time at Rugby Park. He indirectly helped Celtic’s Premiership title bid on Wednesday night with his performance in Killie’s 2-1 win over Rangers.
The tweet from @celticrumours claimed that he would be a better option for the Hoops than Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna, for whom a £5m bid from the Parkhead club last summer was rejected (as per The Scottish Sun). The topic of a potential return for Findlay drew a mixed reaction from these Celtic fans on Twitter, with some gladly willing to take him back and others less keen on him – one fan stated his preference for keeping faith in Stephen Welsh, who made his Hoops debut earlier this month:
