Celtic team news: Ntcham passed fit for AEK Athens clash

Celtic will be preparing for their clash with AEK Athens as they look to progress to the next stage of the Champions League.

The Bhoys have already beaten Alashkert and Rosenborg so far in the competition and will now need to go up against the Greek outfit.

And, according to a report in the Daily Record, the club look to be able to call upon one of their main men for the match.

Olivier Ntcham has been declared fit for their first-leg clash at Parkhead, despite concerns that he would be ruled out after picking up an injury in their 3-1 victory against Livingston.

Brendan Rodgers will be delighted that the Frenchman has been declared fit, however, he will still have concerns as a number of his players remain unavailable.

Moussa Dembele is out with a hamstring issue, whilst Dedryck Boyata is not yet ready following his extended break. Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan are also still working their way back from injuries.

Jozo Simunovic will be available for the clash with AEK after he completed his two-game suspension following a red card against Alashkert.

The Verdict:

Celtic will have been boosted by the return of Ntcham as he has already played a key role for the club this season.

The winger has already had a hand in scoring a number of goals and will be hoping to continue to make an impact against their Greek opponents.

Rodgers will also be delighted to have Simunovic available for the clash as his defensive options appeared to be thin in the previous round of the tournament and will feel confident that they can keep the opposition at bay.
