Celtic recorded their second Europa League Group E victory last night by beating Lazio 2-1 at Parkhead, but they had to do it the hard way by coming from behind.

The Hoops trailed 0-1 at half-time, with Manuel Lazzari firing the Italian visitors into the lead in the 40th minute, as noted by @CelticFC on Twitter.

The goal came from a swift counterattack, with Celtic on the offensive just seconds earlier as Ryan Christie’s shot struck two defenders before Lazio broke, as noted by BBC.

With Boli Bolingoli out of position, having charged into the visitors’ penalty area when Christie took his shot, the Serie A side broke quickly and the move ended with Joaquin Correa slipping a pass through to Lazzari, who drove the ball powerfully past Fraser Forster, as per BBC.

Kristoffer Ajer was caught ball-watching, failing to notice the run of Lazzari as he focused on Correa, and the Celtic man ultimately let the scorer beat him to the ball. [via UEFA.com]

These Celtic fans on Twitter felt that the Norwegian defender was culpable for the concession of that goal:

drop ajer

Nice of ajer to just stand and watch the run

Said it before ajer is never a centre half.

Why did @KristofferAjer just stand there
