Celtic: Bhoys enter advanced talks with Ben Davies - Celtic Transfer Rumours

UPDATE: Liverpool have had a £2m bid for Ben Davies accepted by Preston and it looks like the defender will be heading to Anfield, not Parkhead.

Celtic have entered advanced talks to sign Preston North End defender Ben Davies, reports have revealed.

Davies is Parkhead bound?

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move north of the border in recent weeks, with his contract at Deepdale due to expire at the end of the season.

Davies has made it clear to Preston that he wants to leave after Lilywhites manager Alex Neil previously stated “there is no replacement in the building” for him (quoted by TW News).

There's no way you can name all ten obscure Celtic players! First up, who is this?

After what has been a disastrous season for Celtic both on and off the pitch, the Hoops are looking to put things in place for next season. Football Insider unveiled that the Scottish giants are deep in negotiations to sign Davies ahead of a move in the summer.

The report added that Bournemouth have also held talks with the player but they understand that the Hoops are in pole position to secure his services.

Transfer Tavern Verdict

The signing of Shane Duffy has been a total disaster, this suggests to us that Celtic have no intention of keeping him beyond the end of the season.

The introduction of Davies could be the first of the many changes needed at the club, as the Bhoys aim to put the 2020/21 campaign behind them as quickly as possible.

Celtic would be bringing in an experienced player in terms of the second tier of English football and he could be a solid signing for the club.
