Celtic: Klimala close to New York Red Bulls move - Celtic

MLS side New York Red Bulls are close to a move for Celtic striker Patryk Klimala.

That’s according to Alison McConnell of The Times, cited by Once A Metro, who claims that New York Red Bulls are close to a deal for the out of favour Hoops forward.

The MLS transfer window is open until June 1, with Cameron Harper and Andrew Gutman recently making the move to New York Red Bulls from Parkhead.

Footage of first-team training at Lennoxtown was shared by Celtic earlier this week, with the 22-year-old and fellow forward Albian Ajeti not in shot.

Klimala, who earns £5,800-a-week in Glasgow, was handed a chance to impress under interim boss John Kennedy in his first game in charge against Aberdeen.

However, the Pole was brought off just after the hour mark and hasn’t been in action since.

A loan move for regular game time could be the correct decision by the Hoops, who paid £3.5m for the forward in just over 12 months ago.

However, the new Celtic manager may have a different view on things, so it could be a wise call to wait until Neil Lennon’s successor is in place before agreeing to any loan move.
