Celtic: Olivier Ntcham attracting interest from former Champions League winners - Celtic Transfer Rumours

Restless Celtic star Olivier Ntcham is attracting interest from his homeland as Marseille will look to battle Newcastle United for his signature, according to reports.

Ntcham to get his wish?

The 24-year-old has made it clear he has wanted to leave Parkhead for some time after being denied a deadline day move to Ligue 1 side Brest back in October.

Ntcham has only started 10 games this season after Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull have overtaken the Frenchman in Neil Lennon’s pecking order.

There's no way you can name all ten obscure Celtic players! First up, who is this?

After Sky Sports revealed that Newcastle are interested in taking him on loan, Football Insider said that Marseille are set to rival the Magpies in the pursuit of Ntcham before Monday’s 11 pm deadline.

Since his move from Manchester City in 2017, the former France U21 international scored 24 goals and provided 13 assists in 147 outings (TransferMarkt).

Transfer Tavern Verdict

This is news that some Celtic fans would welcome, on the back of his lack of game time and because of the fact that he is earning £15k-per-week to essentially not play football, according to Football League FC.

These are wages that could be freed up and potentially utilised to bring fresh faces into the club, something that was reported earlier this month in terms of activity away from the pitch.

With little time to get any transfer activity completed, it will be the best news for both parties if Ntcham was to leave the club, if Celtic can find a replacement.

In other news, Neil Lennon set to ignore Celtic fans once more after ‘exciting’ reveal.
