The Verdict: Archer is a solid signing for QPR

Looking at the situation objectively, QPR fans will be pleased that they have landed some established competition for current number one goalkeeper Seny Dieng.

In 2020/21, Archer made 10 appearances combined for Motherwell and Boro, managing to keep only a solitary clean sheet [Transfermarkt], but he does have international experience, earning his debut for Scotland in a 2-0 friendly defeat against Peru in South America [BBC].

Experienced and available for nothing, he will help in the short-term to provide some depth in the QPR goalkeeping department without costing the club a penny other than his wages.

Whether he breaks into the side as number one or not, this looks to be a shrewd acquisition.
