Charlton arguably put in their worst performance of the season at the weekend as they lost at home to Preston with a lacklustre display at The Valley in the Sky Bet Championship.
Perhaps part of it was down to the fact that the Addicks were kicking off at lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon, but Preston had the same issue and dealt with it better, deservedly edging the game.
Up next for Charlton, meanwhile, a real test to focus the mind; a South London derby against Millwall.
The Addicks haven’t beaten the Lions in 23 years and will be wanting to change that, but Lee Bowyer has a few injury issues to deal with right now and will be hoping things clear up before too long.
One man making his return, at least, is Lewis Page with him playing for the U23 side on Monday afternoon – conveniently enough against Millwall.
Fans and players linked with the Addicks, meanwhile, took to Twitter to reflect on his progress from injury and, clearly, there was a lot of positivity around the news:
Great to get a little run out today, 45mins done and smile back on the face. More minutes to add at the end of the week! 👍🏼💪🏽 https://t.co/ZfTnSqXqwj
