A number of Charlton Atheltic fans on Twitter were left gushing over the performance of Darren Pratley on Saturday afternoon after he helped his side to a 2-1 victory over Barnsley.
Goals from Lyle Taylor and Andre Green in the first half were enough for The Valley outfit to ease any possible relegation fears as they beat one of the Championship’s biggest strugglers this season.
Indeed, although the south London outfit still sit in a precarious position within the division, the win will have handed Charlton some much-needed confidence and momentum as the campaign heads into the business end of the year.
And, it would appear Pratley stepped up once again for the Addicks as he put in a solid display in the middle of the field to help Lee Bowyer’s side end a poor run of form and pick up their first victory since Boxing Day.
The experienced campaigner may have only earned himself a match rating of 6.71, however he still managed to contribute with one tackle, one interception and one clearance defensively whilst also having one attempt at goal – which was on target (per WhoScored).
As mentioned, fans took to Twitter in awe of the 34-year-old’s most recent performance and left a number of positive reactions, with some even suggesting that he should be named the club’s player of the year.
