Chelsea fans have raised eyebrows here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest claim from Fantix who note that Romelu Lukaku has expressed a desire to join German outfit Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian forward has of course been on loan for the season to West Bromwich Albion where he has impressed no end even scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge of the Red Devils.
Now it seems that another spell on loan elsewhere in the Premier League may not be for the player who has attracted interest from West Ham United and Swansea City – both of whom are keen to take him on a temporary agreement for the duration of next season.
A move back to parent club Chelsea also seems doubtful as the player has expressed a desire to play first team football, something he would not be able to do at Stamford Bridge just yet. Now he has claimed to Talksport that: “I’ll start the season with Chelsea. Then I will speak with the management to discuss the best choice. I am a realist,”
“Dortmund would be a good choice, especially as this club can still win the Champions League.”
Dortmund of course are in the Champions League Final after knocking out ironically incoming manager at Chelsea, – Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid and would be happy to land a forward of Lukaku’s calibre, especially given they are set to lose current star man Robert Lewandowski this summer.
