Chelsea ‘could’ still make move for one of rivals’ key players this summer

It really does look as if the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are in for a busy end to what has otherwise been a relatively frustrating summer.

Indeed, the likes of Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley and Fernando Llorente have all been touted for a late move to Stamford Bridge, much to the delight of the Blues in our bar.

Well, as if they weren’t excited enough already, a transfer tidbit from the Daily Mail has gone down a storm.

They’ve revealed that the Premier League champions ‘could’ still move for Tottenham Hotspur ace, Danny Rose. The England international gave an explosive interview earlier this summer suggesting he wanted more money than he’s currently on.

As a result, both Chelsea and Manchester United were touted as potential landing spots for the 27-year-old and this report seems to suggest Antonio Conte’s side could still make a late dash for him.

One of the best wing-backs in the league, Rose would certainly improve Chelsea and our west London locals would love to weaken a rival such as Tottenham.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Surely there is no chance Tottenham would sell one of their best players to a big rival at this stage of the window.

Perhaps earlier this summer if Chelsea had offered silly money, though Spurs selling now would ruin Mauricio Pochettino’s project in north London.
