Plenty of Chelsea fans want to see Frank Lampard drop midfielder Mason Mount from the starting 11 in the near future.
The midfielder was on loan at Derby County last term and has burst into the Blues’ line-up this season to become a regular, starting 21 of their 23 Premier League fixtures (Transfermarkt).
Initially, he impressed and managed to score four goals and provide two assists in his first 10 league appearances of the season (Transfermarkt), which helped him become a full England international, playing in each of the Three Lions’ last six games (Transfermarkt).
However, since then, the goal involvements have significantly dried up for the 21-year-old. In his last 13 league appearances, he has managed to register just one goal and one assist (Transfermarkt).
As a result of that dip in form, it seems that lots of Chelsea fans would like to see Mount taken out of the team for a while. If Lampard did do that then he certainly has plenty of alternative options, with his England colleague Ross Barkley being one of those.
