Many Chelsea fans on Twitter have called for Olivier Giroud to start for Chelsea tomorrow night in the Champions League against Lille OSC.

Giroud has rarely featured so far this season. In the Premier League, bar one start, he has been playing second fiddle to the in-form Tammy Abraham. In recent weeks he has not featured in the last three matchday squads across all competitions, with Michy Batshuayi replacing him on the bench.
The 33-year-old Frenchman has insisted he doesn’t just want to be Abraham’s understudy at the Bridge but given that the latter has netted seven goals in seven Premier League appearances so far this season, it seems that could be the case.
Giroud still has a lot to offer and, with French manager Didier Deschamps still valuing him as the national team’s first-choice striker, that surely would provide him with confidence that he can still perform for Chelsea and overthrow Abraham.
