New signing Christian Pulisic was finally handed a start against the Clarets after impressing off the bench in recent weeks and did not disappoint. The man dubbed ‘Captain America’ netted a perfect hat-trick in Lancashire to help his side win their seventh consecutive match.
In the Champions League last week, Chelsea were also impressive against a strong Ajax side. The Blues won 1-0 thanks to a late finish from substitute Michy Batshuayi and are now on course to make it out of their group.
Fikayo Tomori performed well throughout the encounter by contributing to a clean sheet, and while that is of course important, his cheeky Cruyff-turn past Hakim Ziyech is also something to look back at it.
