Chelsea fans were ecstatic after Olivier Giroud finally started a game for the club in their Premier League defeat to West Ham United.
The Frenchman has been warming the bench at Stamford Bridge this season, starting just one Premier League game, the 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City (via Transfermarkt).
However, in his absence, Tammy Abraham has flourished in the number nine role, scoring 10 goals in just 13 games in the top flight.
Still, manager Frank Lampard may have dealt a blow to Giroud’s long-term Chelsea career as he claimed Christian Pulisic could be an option up front (via The Express).
Pulisic has been in fine goalscoring form himself this year, scoring five goals in his last five league games for the west London giants.
Fans were excited after Giroud started the game against the Hammers on Saturday afternoon as they took to Twitter to react.
