Chelsea: Fans love ‘morale booster’ comments from Christian Pulisic

Chelsea fans have reacted to Christian Pulisic’s comments about Frank Lampard after he illustrated the backing that the manager has given him since he joined the club.

Pulisic, 21, scored a terrific hat-trick against Burnley during the 4-2 victory at Turf Moor and has made a significant contribution in attack since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

So far this season, the American winger has scored three goals and provided two assists in seven appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League.

After joining the club for £58m, Pulisic told the club’s official website that he has the faith of the manager.

“He believes in me, he has told me that”, Pulisic said.

“I wanted to be on the field as much as I could right from the start, that’s everyone’s goal. I didn’t come here expecting everything to be easy and to start every game. I had to work for my spot, just like anyone does, and I am proud of the journey I have had so far.

“I have to keep working hard in training and earn my spot. That’s how it is at the highest level. I am going to continue doing so, and hopefully, Saturday was just the start.”

Supporters were delighted with the morale-boosting message from Pulisic and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan referred to him as “Puliassist”, while another called him the “Shield of Transylvania”.
