Christian Pulisic’s career at Chelsea is still yet to really get going.
The American is still awaiting his first goal for the Blues, but has registered four assists for the club in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
The 21-year-old hasn’t seen consistent game-time come easily this term, however, starting only three of Chelsea’s nine Premier League fixtures.
Pulisic was again left on the substitutes’ bench at kick-off on Saturday when Newcastle came to visit Stamford Bridge, but was introduced on the 64th minute against the Magpies and had an almost immediate impact.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger picked up the ball on the half-turn, drove towards the penalty area and set up Callum Hudson-Odoi, who proceeded to layoff full-back Marcos Alonso, with the Spaniard drilling home to win the match for the hosts in the 73rd minute.
Plenty of Chelsea fans were impressed with what they saw from Pulisic during his 26-minute cameo on Saturday, with some taking to Twitter to praise the US international, as seen below…
